To eliminate the requirement that age be considered in the preplacement assessment by a child placing agency of a person who wants to adopt a child. Under current law a person who wants to adopt may request a preplacement assessment, and it is required to include the person’s age, nationality, race or ethnicity, and any religious preference; marital and family status and history, including the presence of other children or adults in the household; physical and mental health, including any history of substance abuse; educational and employment history and any special skills and interests; property and income, including outstanding financial obligations; the reason for wanting to adopt; domestic violence history if any; criminal record if any; and more.
