To define a road "work zone" as an area of a street or highway in which construction, maintenance, or utility work activities are being conducted. A work zone includes the area between the first sign indicating a work area or traffic control device and an "end road work" sign. This area would be subject to the work zone speed restrictions which exist in current law.
