To appropriate $50,000 a year from the civil fines levied for certain environmental law violations, which would provide grants of up to $5,000 for environmental education projects that focus on “providing a learning experience for students to become better stewards of the state's natural resources.” The projects would be those proposed by teachers who have been granted an award by a state committee for demonstrating “excellence in the field of K-12 environmental education”.
