To revise the definition of “commercial motor vehicle” to include those with a gross weight of 26,001 lbs. or more, rather than the 10,001 lb. threshold under current law. Owners and operators of commercial motor vehicles are subject to more rigorous licensure and safety requirements. The gross weight is one of several items which can cause a vehicle to be defined as a commercial motor vehicle.
