Insurance requiring mail order drug sale regulations

To require health insurance companies and other health plan providers to apply for a certificate of authority to operate as a “prescription benefits manager,” subject to state reporting requirements and annual $500 fees. The bill is part of a package comprised of House Bills 5435 to 5438 The bill is part of a package comprised of House Bills 5435 to 5438, which would also prohibit health insurers, HMOs, and other health plans from paying different amounts for prescription drugs to different pharmacists, whether they sell by mail order or over the counter, and impose Michigan pharmacy licensure regulations on out-of-state mail order pharmacies.
