2004 House Bill 6135

Ban liquor sales to recent drunk driving offenders

Introduced in the House

Sept. 8, 2004

Introduced by Rep. John Stahl (R-82)

To require the Secretary of State to issue a “vertical” (or “portrait”) format drivers license or state I.D. card for one year to a person who is convicted of drunk driving, two years for a second conviction, and five years for a third or subsequent conviction. House Bill 6133 would ban liquor sales to those with vertical licenses. Under current law the vertical format licenses are only issued to those under the age of 21.
