2004 Senate Bill 1072

Introduced in the Senate

March 3, 2004

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

To eliminate the alternative tests that can qualify a student who has taken some but not all of the state MEAP tests for a state Merit Award Scholarship. A student would have to take and do well on each of the MEAP reading, writing, mathematics, and science tests to qualify for the scholarship. Under current law, a student who scores in the top 25 percent of a nationally recognized college admissions or job skills assessment test need only take and do well on two of the MEAP subject tests.
