To include a patient advocate among the people who must be notified if a mental health patient in a Department of Community Health hospital is transferred to any other hospital or other Department facility. Currently, the patient and his or her guardian or nearest relative must be notified at least seven days before any non-emergency transfer. See Senate Bill 1464, which allows an individual to designate a patient advocate for mental health treatment decisions.
