2004 Senate Bill 1476

Create “companion animal fund” tax checkoff

Introduced in the Senate

Nov. 4, 2004

Introduced by Sen. Shirley Johnson (R-13)

To allow an individual to designate on his or her annual state income tax return that a contribution of $2 or more from his or her refund be credited to a “companion animal fund” proposed by Senate Bill 1475. This would have the effect of reducing the amount of a person’s tax refund. A person not receiving a refund could use his or her tax return to contribute $2 to the fund.
