2004 Senate Bill 973

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 11, 2004

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

To revise parole hearing schedules for prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole. Under current law, after ten years in prison they may receive a parole board review at intervals “as determined by the parole board,” and at five year intervals after 15 years in prison. The bill would require parole board review every five years after the initial 10 years have been served.
