Let nurse practitioners conduct mandated physical exams

To extend to certified nurse practitioners the authority to conduct the physical examination and certify the medical statement required for adoption preplacement assessments. The bill is part of a legislative package comprised of Senate Bills 979 to 989 that extend to nurses and/or certified nurse practitioners the authority to conduct physical examinations mandated by various statutes, which under current law must be conducted by a physician. A nurse practitioner is a type of nurse who has advanced training beyond that required for initial licensure and who has demonstrated competency through examinations.
