Mandate utilities use alternative energy

To require electricity suppliers to immediately generate or acquire seven-percent of the electricity they sell with renewable sources. This would increase to 15 percent of power sold by 2015, the but the Michigan Public Service Commission could establish a system of energy credits that providers could use to meet the new standards, or waive the mandate if renewable sources of power are not available in the amounts necessary to comply.
