To authorize enhanced penalties for extremely drunk drivers. The bill would add a third level of intoxication to the drunk driving law, which would be a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.20 grams or more per 100 milliliters of blood. The law currently specifies different penalties for those who are "under the influence of alcoholic liquor, a controlled substance, or a combination," and those with a BAC of 0.08 grams or more per 100 milliliters of blood.
