2005 House Bill 4576

Restrict waterfront “road end” use

Introduced in the House

March 24, 2005

Introduced by Rep. John Stakoe (R-44)

To restrict and regulate the erection of seasonal boat docks or hoists at “road ends” that terminate at a body of water, and prohibit mooring or docking an unoccupied vessel in the water off a road end between midnight and sunrise. The bill would restrict the use of road ends for shoreline activities including sunbathing, picnicking, lounging, swimming, etc., except where these uses are specifically included in a property owners deed. See also House Bill 4578, which allows these shoreline activities.
