To prohibit a person who has been granted a guardian’s power to consent to or approve medical treatment for his or her spouse from making a medical treatment decision to withhold or withdraw treatment, nourishment, or hydration that would result in the spouse’s death, if a court determines that the guardian has a marital conflict of interest. This is defined as having filed for divorce, or having a current, commonly known or openly acknowledged, adulterous relationship.
