2005 House Bill 4968 / Public Act 204

Revise estates and protected individuals code

Introduced in the House

June 16, 2005

Introduced by Rep. Tonya Schuitmaker (R-80)

To make a number of miscellaneous amendments to the estates and protected individuals code, as recommended by the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. These are mostly technical, but the bill does add some new procedural safeguards. In 1998 the state law that covers wills, estates, and probate was extensively revised, and this bill "cleans up" some inconsistencies in the new law that have arisen since then.

Referred to the Committee on Judiciary

Sept. 15, 2005

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (H-2) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
