2005 House Bill 5079

Revise candidate fundraising event disclosures

Introduced in the House

Aug. 3, 2005

Introduced by Rep. Steve Bieda (D-25)

To eliminate the requirement in Michigan’s campaign finance reporting law that candidates must report the following details about a fund raising event: the date, type of event, venue name and address, approximate number of participants, total contributions, gross receipts and expenditures. Instead, candidates would only have to report the name and address of contributors, and how much each gave (which is required under the current law also).
