2005 House Bill 5384

Repeal more-stringent-than-federal air standards

Introduced in the House

Nov. 1, 2005

Introduced by Rep. Fulton Sheen (R-88)

To establish that Michigan’s emission standards for major sources and area sources of hazardous air pollutants will be those required under federal law, and not the additional health based screening level requirements of current state law. In other words, Michigan would not have requirements more stringent than those required by the federal government in other states.
