2005 Senate Bill 30

Require municipal water pollution disclosures

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 25, 2005

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

To require a municipality that has been responsible for the discharge of improperly or untreated sewage to issue a year-end report of its interaction with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Under current law, the municipality responsible for the discharge is required to give immediate notice to all affected parties and local media when the discharge occurs. This bill would require that the responsible municipality also release a comprehensive report regarding the events leading up the discharge.
