2005 Senate Bill 312

Assure no-fault auto insurance coverage

Introduced in the Senate

March 16, 2005

Introduced by Sen. Dennis Olshove (D-9)

To require the Secretary of State to implement a system for cross-checking vehicle registrations and no-fault insurance coverage. Under Michigan’s no-fault insurance law drivers are required to have insurance when they register and operate a vehicle, but there is no system to monitor whether the insurance is cancelled after registration.
