2005 Senate Bill 45

Prostate cancer income tax checkoff

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 25, 2005

Introduced by Sen. Samuel B. Thomas (D-4)

To allow an individual to choose to automatically contribute $2 or more from his or her state income tax refund to pay for applied prostate cancer research and “community education programs to raise awareness” about prostate cancer. This would have the effect of reducing the amount of a person’s tax refund. A person not receiving a refund could use his or her tax return to contribute to the fund.
