To repeal a sales tax exemption on the purchase of food from a vending machine. This is one of $200 million in “revenue enhancement” or “tax expenditure” proposals included in Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s Fiscal Year 2005-2006 budget recommendation, and together with Senate Bill 587 would increase the taxes paid by citizens approximately $25 million.
