2005 Senate Bill 594

FY 2006 Executive Budget “Revenue Enhancements”

Introduced in the Senate

June 16, 2005

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

To repeal a sales tax exemption on the sale of trucks, trailers and parts purchased by a trucking company and used in interstate commerce at least 10 percent of the time. This is one of $200 million in “revenue enhancement” or “tax expenditure” proposals included in Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s Fiscal Year 2005-2006 budget recommendation. Together with Senate Bill 593 it would increase the taxes paid by trucking companies by approximately $16 million.
