To repeal the 60 day deadline provision in the <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2005-SB-236">law</a> passed in December, 2005 granting $4.0 million for the Detroit Zoological Society if it takes over management of the Detroit Zoo. The bill was introduced one week after the <a href="http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060220/NEWS05/602200402">Detroit City Council voted</a> on the eve of the expiration of the deadline to not turn over zoo management to the society.
