2006 House Bill 6095

Allow consecutive animal cruelty sentences

Introduced in the House

May 18, 2006

Introduced by Rep. Pam Byrnes (D-52)

To establish that the four-year maximum penalty for willfully, maliciously and without just cause or excuse poisoning, killing, torturing, mutilating, maiming, or disfiguring an animal could be imposed consecutively in a case where there are multiple counts, meaning each sentence would begin when the previous one ended, rather than all running at the same time, or concurrently.
