2006 House Bill 6582

Welfare reform package

Introduced in the House

Sept. 20, 2006

Introduced by Rep. Neal Nitz (R-78)

To require the state Department of Human Services to provide certain information to welfare recipients who have been cut off due to sanctions for noncompliance or work and training requirements, failure to meet the provisions of their "family self-sufficiency plan," or after reaching the 48-month time limit proposed by House Bills 6580 and 6585. The information would include how to obtain other forms of welfare such as food stamps, money from the Women's, Infants and Children program, free and reduced lunches, earned income tax credits, and other relevant programs.
