Authorize companion animal fund and tax check off

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 11, 2006

Introduced by Sen. Valde Garcia (R-22)

To allow an individual to designate on his or her annual state income tax return that a contribution of $2 or more from his or her refund be credited to a “companion animal fund” proposed by Senate Bill 951. This would have the effect of reducing the amount of a person’s tax refund. A person not receiving a refund could use his or her tax return to contribute $2 to the fund.
