To reduce the level of some of the “<a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2003-SB-509">driver responsibility fees</a>” or “bad driver fees” tacked on to various traffic violations and paid to the state, which were imposed as a revenue-raising measure in 2003. Some of the fees would be unchanged, some reduced from $2,000 to $1,500, and some cut in half.
