2007 House Bill 4700

Let law enforcement be funded with drug forfeiture money

Introduced in the House

May 2, 2007

Introduced by Rep. Philip LaJoy (R-21)

To repeal the statutory provision that prohibits the use of drug forfeiture money to replace tax or other revenues as the funding source for local or state law enforcement agencies. That law allows drug forfeiture money to be used to supplement regular funding sources, but not replace them. Also to specifically allow the purchase of police vehicles with drug forfeiture money.
