2007 House Bill 5075

Set DNR campground fees in statute

Introduced in the House

Aug. 1, 2007

Introduced by Rep. Kevin Elsenheimer (R-105)

To establish state campground fees within statute, rather than giving the Department of Natural Resources the discretion to set the fees. Individual campsite fees would be $10 per night. Other fees including cabin and group site fees are specified in the bill. Fees would be half the regular price for seniors 65 and older, veterans, active duty military and the disabled. The bill would also establish that if the DNR closes a campsite it would have to allow the local government to keep it open, but the local could not charge any more for the site.
