2007 House Bill 5366

Allow non-violent felons to get cosmetologist license

Introduced in the House

Oct. 25, 2007

Introduced by Rep. Coleman Young (D-4)

To revise a “moral character” provision of the law that prohibits a person from earning a living as a cosmetologist without being granted a state license (which requires 300 classroom hours and three years of experience). The bill would revise the licensure law prohibition on granting a license to a person convicted of a felony if it was a non-violent felony.
