2007 Senate Bill 414

Revise timing of school funding disbursements

Introduced in the Senate

April 18, 2007

Introduced by Sen. Roger Kahn (R-32)

To revise the law prescribing the days on which state funding to school districts is to be disbursed. The bill would establish that if the disbursement day does not fall on a business day, the payment is due on the next business day, not the preceding one. Note: One of the means that has been proposed to close a gap between previously appropriated spending and expected revenues in the current fiscal year is to push certain payments into the next fiscal year.
