2007 Senate Bill 613

Impose new CAFO regulations

To establish fees of between $600 and $5,500 depending on the size of the farm for the concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) permits that would be required under Senate Bill 612 or House Bill 4985. Also, to authorize the Attorney General to sue CAFOs for damages and enforcement costs that result from the operation not following the rules and regulations imposed under state statutes or imposed by Department of Environmental Quality rulemaking. The damages and permit fees would go into the CAFO cleanup and enforcement fund proposed by Senate Bill 619 and House Bill 4990.
