2007 Senate Bill 911

Impose delayed-flight regulations on airlines

Introduced in the Senate

Nov. 8, 2007

Introduced by Sen. Dennis Olshove (D-9)

To impose state regulations on airlines regarding their duties to passengers who have already boarded aircraft that are then subject to extended delays before takeoff or after landing. Among other things the bill would require an airline to let a passenger off the plane after eight hours without forfeiting any rights that come with the ticket. The bill would also establish a state office of airline consumer advocate to undertake investigations and enforce the bill’s requirements.
