To re-establish the former Detroit Recorders Court, which would have exclusive jurisdiction over criminal offenses committed in the city, and would have 29 judges who would be required to live in the city. The bill establishes election procedures and salaries for the judges, to be paid by the state, with the city allowed to pay additional amounts. Detroit Recorders Court was abolished in a 1997 state court reorganization.
