To eliminate no-fault divorce in marriages where there are children. Divorce would only be allowed if the defendant spouse had committed adultery, been convicted of a felony and sentenced to five years or more, abandoned the matrimonial domicile a year or more before the complaint was filed, or abused the plaintiff or a child physically or sexually. Divorce would be allowed if the parties by mutual consent have been living separate and apart continuously without reconciliation for two years or more.
