Introduced
by
To revise procedures for a student in 10th grade to have the new high school curriculum and graduation requirements waived. The bill would make it easier for a student to get out of the math class requirements by allowing the waiver after completing 1-1/2 credits of math (instead of 2-1/2 credits), and after one semester (or trimester) of Grade 10.
Referred to the Committee on Education
Reported without amendment
With the recommendation that the substitute (H-3) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
Substitute offered
To replace the previous version of the bill with one that allows a student to request the math waiver after completing ninth grade.
The substitute passed by voice vote
Amendment offered
by
To require Department of Education review of a school districts plan to provide some of math requirements through vocational education classes, and give the department the authority to reject a plan.
The amendment passed by voice vote
