2008 Senate Bill 1057

Allow beauty shop shampooing after 350 hours of training

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 24, 2008

Introduced by Sen. John Pappageorge (R-13)

To revise a prohibition on an unlicensed person doing shampooing in a cosmetology establishment (barber shop or hair salon), so as to allow a “senior cosmetology student” to do shampooing if the individual has already taken 350 hours of classes on client safety, sanitation, bacteriology, hair and scalp disorders, scalp manipulations, and proper shampooing procedure. See also House Bill 4842, which authorizes license fee increases.
