And fee to levy an assessment on auto insurers of $2 per insured car per year to operate a Michigan Automobile Insurance Fraud and Theft Prevention Authority, which would give the money to law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and insurance, education, or training associations to support programs designed to reduce the incidence of automobile insurance fraud and theft. This body would replace a State Police Automobile Theft Prevention Authority, which is supported by a $1 per car levy on insurers.
