To prohibit police from engaging in car chases except in cases of “imminent peril, defined as “an immediate injury or loss of life is about to occur, or is near-at-hand, or is certain, immediate, and impending. Peril that is “remote, uncertain, or contingent or is a mere possibility” would not qualify.
