Introduced in the Senate

March 3, 2009

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

The executive recommendation for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2009-2010 Department of Education budget. This would appropriate $119.9 million in gross spending, compared to $95.1 million, which was the FY 2008-2009 amount enrolled in 2008. Of this, $26.3 million will come from the general fund (funded by actual state tax revenues), compared to the FY 2008-2009 amount of $7.5 million. Another $7.08 million comes from state “restricted fund” revenue that is generated by various fees and other levies, and most of the balance ($76.4 million) is federal money.
