Mandate school physical and health education classes

To mandate that public schools provide at least 30 minutes of physical education on two days a week and 15 hours of health education annually to children in grades K-5; and 45 minutes of daily physical education for at least one semester and 50 hours of health education annually in grades 6-8. Schools would be required to maintain the same teacher to student ratio for these activities as for regular classes. The state the Department of Education would be required to develop model curriculums. Extracurricular sports would not count toward the mandate.
