2009 Senate Bill 394

Repeal right to recall official for policy disputes

Introduced in the Senate

March 19, 2009

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

To repeal the right of citizens to recall an elected official for public policy or political disagreements. The bill would allow elected officials to be recalled for malfeasance, misfeasance, or nonfeasance in office. Under current law, citizens have the right to recall official for reasons that are explicitly “political”.
