To revise the rules allowing a person under age 12 to operate a motorboat with more than 35 horsepower. Under current law, the child must be under the direct supervision of someone on the boat age 16 or more. The bill would require the child and the supervisor to have a boating safety certificate as defined by House Bill 6313, and the supervisor to also have a “watercraft endorsement.” The bill is part of a package comprised of House Bills 6312 to 6324.
