To streamline the regulations for cleanups of hazardous materials that exist on a property or are spilled. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment’s authority to write rules more stringent than federal standards would be eliminated. In conformance with the project of House Bills 6358 to 6363, this bill revises a property owner’s notification and response responsibilities under the law, and requires the department to create an ongoing inventory of known contaminations.
