To require funeral directors to submit death certificates to the state <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2007-SB-374">Medicaid estate recovery program</a> recovery unit. Under this program, the cost of nursing home and other care for Medicaid recipients may be recovered from the person’s estate after death.
