To prohibit local governments from providing an inducement to issue tickets to parking enforcement “volunteers” authorized under a <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2007-HB-4817">2008 law</a>, including giving them a share of the ticket revenue. Under the bill parking ticket revenue could only be used to benefit the jurisdiction or relevant law enforcement agency. Also, to dismiss a parking ticket issued by these “volunteers” if a driver challenges it and the issuer does not show up in court.
