To expand to "land not used for traditional or production agriculture purposes" a <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2011-HB-4212">state program</a> in which farms are inspected and their compliance with certain conservation, environmental risk, soil nutrient protocols, etc. is verified, giving them qualified exemptions from certain environmental law penalties.
