Introduced
by
To require the Secretary of State to establish a “super voter precinct” pilot project, which means voters can vote at any area polling place in their area, not just the one to which they are assigned. This would require a reliable “electronic poll book” and the ability for polling places to update it in real time as people vote, for which the bill prescribes standards and procedures. The bill would also authorize local governments to consolidate election administration functions.

Reported without amendment
With the recommendation that the substitute (H-2) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
Substitute offered
To adopt a version of the bill that does not include a “super voting precinct” pilot project.
The substitute passed by voice vote
Passed in the House 109 to 1 (details)
To allow city or township clerks to make agreements with the state Bureau of Elections or with their county clerk to perform duties related to maintaining their "qualified voter file," and letting their county clerk perform certain election-related duties. The "super voting precinct" pilot program originally proposed by the bill is not included.
