To revise the requirements for participating in a “veteran’s treatment” specialty court program authorized by a <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2011-HB-5162">2012 law</a> for veterans charged with certain crimes involving drug or alcohol abuse. The bill would require the person to meet with a veterans organization or counselor to discuss veterans benefit programs for which the individual may qualify.
